Disc Golf - My New Summer Hobby
I'm going to start by saying that up until two weeks ago I had never played disc golf in my life. Toss a frisbee around: sure. Play a little ultimate: why not. Disc Golf: No clue what's going on. So, when Doug asked me if I felt like playing around I thought to myself "why not?". Overall it was a really fun experience and probably one of the more laid back sports that I have ...

    - Also Mike, I fully expect you to design their stamps, since the only ones that I've seen are the whole "Emperor Wreath" stamp, which is a bit lacking in my eyes.

    2013-2014 Captain's Log
The season has started so might as well start this! Day 1-3 Northstar! Only a couple of runs open, but their park is on point! A little bit of everything, boxes, rails, and jumps. Surprised they actually had a decent park set up due to the lack of snow in the Tahoe area. Day 4 Squaw Only 1-2 runs open, but I got to go with my roommate. Even though it was only one run open and there was no pa...

    - Days 9 and 10 @ Northstar, 4/15/14 and 1/17/14. Went with my son during his spring break. It was all slush and water everywhere with a lot of brown snow and exposed dirt and plants. My son started to link turns in the greens, but still leafs down the blues. That's the end of the season for me. Only got 10 days in...mostly due to the lack of snow we received this season...

    - Yeah, unfortunately we aren't able to stack discounts unless we create a specific coupon for the item. Kind of like the "Spend $200 get an additional $20 off" coupon that was available for a while.

    - I can completely agree with the E46 M3 being that last real M car with serious appeal. I'm a huge fan of that body style (owned a 330Ci with the M-sport package) and I will have one in my car collection. Unfortunately I see them going the way of the E30 M3 before too long. Very few left that are stock with reasonable mileage. Do I modify my own cars? Yes. Do I trust someone else modding a car ...

    Rome 390 Boss Binding
“Great upgrades for 2014” - I’ve been riding rome 390 bosses for the past 3 seasons and upgraded to the 2014 model at the beginning of this year. I’ve ridden Union Forces, Flux, and Burton Malavitas to compare in that same time frame. Time and time again I kept going back to the 390’s. I’ve never had a pair of bindings that conformed to my boot so well. I attribute it to the customization beyond other bindings. The upgraded ...

    Thrive Snowboard R&D
We are just launching Thrive but we are already working on the future lineup of products. Please post your suggestions to what you would like to see as we grow our lineup of snowboards. What other sizes would you like to see in the Men's boards that we already produce: Accomplice Renegade Relentless What other shapes would you like Thrive to produce down the road?

Snowboarding is dead, I guess we need to start skiing
http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/snow-sports/skiing-and-snowboarding/snowboarding/Snowboarding-Is-Screwed.html Interesting read, I don't agree with a lot of it, especially when there are grass roots companies like Thrive or local shops that support snowboarding at all ages and demographics.

    - As a snowboard of 15 years experience and one of an increasing number of 50+ snowboarers, I think that the article speaks half truths and doesn't show a lot of understanding about snowboarding in general. My skiing friends have sustained far worse injuries than me. ACL's and PCL's for the main part. Your knees cop a whacking when you ski. Our family snowboards together as the kids swit...

    Thrive Covert Hat
“Ready for Black Ops” - I have owned this hat for a while now, and I have only good things to say of it. It is understated, but still easily identifiable, and stands out from the crowd. The fit is good too, as I have an XL head, and there is still room to extend the hat beyond what fits for me. If you are looking for a new hat then I can definitely recommend this.

    Rome 390 Boss Binding Doug
    Rome 390 Boss Binding
“More than just a toy. Industrial Strength!” - I think the binding is the perfect balance of performance. The Rome 390 Boss is more than just the average plastic or cheap metal base tray binding. This binding is truly setting the industry standard for build, responsiveness and durability. While the metal heal cup wraps all the way under the foot, it does not make direct contact with the board. The rubber gasket and plastic tray of the 390 Bind...

“A Camber Revolution” - The relentless 55 is my quiver of one and performs well in every arena. It is stable at high speeds and hold a solid edge in harry traverses due to the carbon "V" directing energy from the center to the contact points. Since the Relentless has minimal camber and is still somewhere in the middle as far as stiffness it butters easily, making it easy to turn in the bumps and steeps. Where t...

    Rome 390 Boss Binding
“My Go To Binding” - I've been riding the Rome 390 Boss binding since it came out, but I always try and ride the newest offerings from other brands every year. When all is said and done, I still come back to the 390 Boss. The biding is comfortable so all day riding is no issue. You can adjust the straps without any tools, so it's easy to dial in a fit that is right for your boot size. The highback also offer...

    Sequel to "Art of Flight"?
It appears that with Travis's recent partnership with Toyota a note was written about a sequel to Art of Flight. Since they put on one of the best premier's every time they come through Denver, I'm hoping it's a 2014/2015 show. Anyone have any other rumors on it? http://snowboarding.transworld.net/1000211055/photos/travis-rice-signs-toyota/?pid=53413#ngtop http://travisrice.com/
